Maritime University of Szczecin has its own dormitories which are located 300 meters from main Maritime University Hall (main University building). There are two , ten-stroyed dormitories- KORAB and PASSAT which can guarantee accommodation for around 900 students. Both buildings were renovated and offered double and triple rooms. Rooms are grouped in two or four boxes with common bathroom, consisting from shower cabin, toilet and two washbasins.
Erasmus+ exchange students are offered a place in the student house on the same basis as Polish students. The total monthly rent in student’s dormitory is PLN 418 (around 90 EUR) (triple room) .
How to find campus buildings?
The campus buildings are situated in the vicinity of beautiful Zeromski Park, not far from Plac Rodla, city’s major junction where is located bus terminus and which is crisscrossed by trams. Moreover from campus you can easily go to the city centre (just 5 minutes walk) with malls, cinemas, theaters, restaurants as well as the historic old town.
Each room is equipped with standard furniture (bed, cupboard, desk, chairs) as well as with basic equipment like duvet, pillow and sheets. There are no kitchen supply in the rooms- but there is a common kitchen on each floor which is equipped with an electric cooker, drain board, sink and table as well as with a fridge. All students have to have their own kitchen dishes and pans. There is also laundry room in the building as well as TV room with cable TV access, study room, ironing rooms deposit room and leisure rooms for table tennis, aerobics or dance. The free Internet is accessible in each room.
Other facilities at the campus
On campus premises there are two canteens known as Bistro and Pod Masztami. Bistro is located in building on Szczerbcowa 4 street on the first floor. Instead Pod Masztami is located in the main University building on Wały Chrobrego 1-2 street on the basement. Both are offered a full hot lunch menu during the semester . You can find there some snacks and drinks as well. The current cost of one student hot meal is around 12 PLN (3 EUR).
In the University complex there are also swimming pool, gym, student club “POD MASZTAMI” and small shop with basic products.
If you will decided to stay in our dorms, you have to know what rules are in force there. The most important rule concerns open hours. Lights-out start at 10. 00 PM and finish at 6.00 AM. During this time you should behave quiet and don not disturb other students. Your guests can visit you every day during visit hours i.e 6.00AM to 24.00 PM.
Students take care of tidiness by themselves. All common rooms must be cleaned after use by persons who were staying there. As regards to boxes and rooms each student has keep his room clean and tidy. Besides that each of them has his turn to clean common bathroom (clean utilities are provided). Once a month takes place a tidiness checking which is made by commission. If you fail the tidiness test three times you will have to abandon the dorm. But if the result of checking will be excellent three times in succession commission will not check your room any more.
The students are obliged to pay rent by the end of the each month. The payment can be only made to individual for each student bank account. There is a bank located next to the student house where you can pay by cash, it is also possible to pay by bank transfer.
